Author Q & A

A more detailed Q & A can be found at Write 2 Be Magazine: Interview with Sara Owens

  • What is your inspiration?
My life, my history, and what I dream of to come. Each of my characters is very personal to me. Each one has a distinct meaning to me and my life.

  • How do you write?
I usually sit down at my computer and just start writing, eventually the pieces start to fall into place, and I get an outline together. Then through much editing, I refine the piece.

  •  Do you ever get writer's block?
Yes, definitely. Sometimes life gets crazy and it is hard to figure out what to write next.

  • What was the very first thing you can ever remember writing?
A Thanksgiving article in my school newsletter as a child.

  • How old were you when you first started writing stories?
I can't remember exactly, but I would say I was about twelve years old when I finished my first full-length story.

  •  What do you enjoy most about writing?
The freedom, the part of taking yourself to a whole new world. Creating a world of characters.
